DAY 1
Departure from BCN/MAD to Marrakesh, transfer to a riad (traditional Moroccan house). Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 2: MARRAKECH - AIT BENHADDOU - ZAGORA
Departure in the morning in a 4x4 vehicle with chauffeur/guide southwards, crossing the High Atlas through the Tizi N'tichka pass at an altitude of 2,600m and then arriving at the famous Kasbah in Aït Ben Haddou where several international films have been shot, such as Obelix, Gladiator, Sahara ...We will have lunch and then continue towards Zagora through the Draa Valley. Dinner and accommodation in a riad.
DAY 3: ZAGORA - TAZARINE - ARFOUD
This route will allow us to discover the splendid palm groves of the Draa river, stretching for more than 150 km, the porcelain factory and the Koran library of Tamgounite, and finally the Bedouin town of Rissani, ancient economic capital and the first imperial city of Morocco, with its large souko (traditional Moroccan market) under red arches and its numerous markets.
Arrival at the KASBAH HOTEL CHERGUI, dinner and accommodation.
DAY 4: ARFOUD - ERG CHEBBI
A day's journey through real desert, starting with a visit to the marine fossil quarry, oases and desert villages until arriving at the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, a desert where we will replace the 4x4 vehicles with camels, «the 8x8 of the desert», to enter the dunes and enjoy an unforgettable sunset. Accommodation in bivouacs and Jaimas (Arab tents). A magical night beneath the stars.
DAY 5: ERG CHEBBI - ARFOUD
You are recommended to wake up early to see the dawn from the peak of the great dunes. Breakfast and another day's journey through desert, breathtaking landscapes, the Merzouga Oasis, Khamlia ("the village of Black men"), the ruins of the French fortress in Mifis, nomads in Jaimas and the village of Rizan with its large authentic market. Return to the KASBAH HOTEL CHERGUI where you will be able to have a swim in the swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and even a relaxing massage.
DAY 6: ARFOUD - TODRA - OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH
Early return towards Marrakesh, stopping at the pretty Todra Gorge and in the Valley of Roses and in Dades Valley. In the evening, there is a scheduled visit to the Jemaa el Fna Town Square. Dinner and accommodation in a charming riad, located in the heart of the medina.
DAY 7: MARRAKECH
Guided tour of MARRAKESH, the centre of Morocco, with its old quarter (medina), its colourful markets, its famous JEMAA el FNA town square and its energy, both during the day and night and its celebrated historic sights: the MENARA gardens, the EL BAHIA and EL BADIA palaces, the SAÄDIENAS tombs. Accommodation in a riad in MARRAKESH.
DAY 8: MARRAKECH - SPAIN
Transfer to the airport according to departure, and the end of the trip. |
